Samuel Knight Meader, son of Elisha Meader (1788-1877) [0165] and Susan Smith (1790-1831), was born August 9, 1816 in Haverhill, NH and died April 30, 1898. He married Eliza Griswold, daughter of Daniel B. Griswold of Wethersfield, CT, born August 23, 1815.

He was a railroad contractor in Hartford. Late in life he lived with his brothers in Haverhill, but he died in Hartford and was buried in Zion Hill Cemetery beside his wife and sons.
